This wiki is focused on identifying, documenting and publishing incidents of modern-day yellow journalism, with a focus on those perpetrating the muckraking. We are part of the postmedia network, powered by patriots. We are dedicated to disinfecting the Fourth Estate of traditional journalism by shining the unwavering light of truth on to the journalists who are responsible for fanning the flames which presently burn that institution to the ground.
We are the Fifth Estate. We do not answer to any corporation, ideology or government. We only heed our God, families, communities and ourselves. We will reveal lies, deception, slant and slander.

Required History Lessons
Yellow journalism and the yellow press are American terms for journalism and associated newspapers that present little or no legitimate well-researched news while instead using eye-catching headlines for increased sales. Techniques may include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, or sensationalism. By extension, the term yellow journalism is used today as a pejorative to decry any journalism that treats news in an unprofessional or unethical fashion.
A read on the history of yellow journalism is enlightening and highly recommended. Supposedly "woke" crusading journalists and editors of the day became so enbroiled in their own bubble of fake news of the day that they actually ended up starting and justifying the Spanish-American War, which is itself another interesting read in history. Just be sure to read beyond what you'll find on wikipedia.org, because the journalists themselves have ensured that article clears them of any wrongdoing -- of course. Luckily, your local library will still have plenty of old fashioned, printed history books that have yet to be redacted and edited to erase the crimes of journalists past.
The interesting thing about yellow journalism is that it destroyed the Fourth Estate. Except, it didn't. Because, back then, there communications moved slowly. There was plenty of time for the Fourth Estate to rebuild itself. In fact, many of the editors and owners who caused the decline themselves sought redemption in their final acts.
Today, however, the Fourth Estate faces potential permanent annihilation. Primarily because the Fifth Estate, powered by rapidly advancing, largely uncontrollable communications technologies, is naturally and aggressively filling the credibility vacuum left by the decline of traditional journalism.
The Fairness Doctrine
The fairness doctrine of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949, was a policy that required the holders of broadcast licenses both to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was—in the FCC's view—honest, equitable, and balanced. The FCC eliminated the policy in 1987 and removed the rule that implemented the policy from the Federal Register in August 2011.
Subsequent to elimination of that policy, libertarian and conservative opinions have increasingly been attenuated, eliminated, demonized, and lately, criminalized by journalistic and media institutions. In recent years, perpetrators of such censorship have grown to include major social media platforms such as Google/Youtube, Twitter and Facebook.
The rapidly increasing decline of trust and perceived credibility in Fourth Estate media is also largely related to abuses allowed and enabled by the elimination the Fairness Doctrine. As traditional media and established social media continue to lose hold over public opinion, they react by imposing ever more draconian imbalance in their coverage and reporting. That has produced a feedback loop which is nonlinear and arguably, unrecoverable.
